Project-1: The fictional world

Moodboard for the fictional world.

Lots of different references to monkeys and apes. Gangster and mafia type. Mojo Jojo, banana trees, etc. etc.

Human side of the world, with research facilities, etc. and also just some images to depict the 'ghetto' and such

Project-1: Research and references

Ideas and things that come to mind:
This is a movie-still, Planet of the Apes reference, it is a good example of how my fictional world is because the apes are angry, and in this photo it is portrayed that way. The hatred/grudge against humans that they have developed throughout the evolution of themselves.

Mafia/gangster apes, good representation.

Bananas will play a huge part in the world since these apes are crazy for bananas anyway, might as well learn and see more photos of it.

Research facilities at the human side of the world. All these advanced technologies, medicine, but they are forced to develop underground and in a high security facility just to keep the apes away, since they are violent and it will be quite dangerous to have the chance of apes breaking in and damaging important research. The apes are unhappy about animal testing.

An iconic cartoon character from the Powerpuff Girls. Mojo Jojo is a super evil monkey leader who plans on destroying Townsville, and yet in the episodes, he also leads a normal life, like taking a day off, showering, reading magazines and such. It's just not often portrayed in movies, he still likeable even though he's evil. He still has a sensitive side, etc and I really like that haha.

The popular Evil Monkey from the hilarious show, Family Guy. He makes occasional appearances and has always been an angry monkey. I just find this funny and maybe take some characteristics from this monkey because his attitude is just awesome. Also, I saw one episode of this monkey and he used to be a hardworking and sensible monkey until he came home only to find his wife in bed with another monkey so he became evil. HAHAHAHAHA!

The streets of the Ape's side will probably be all broken since they're violent and they don't care anyway, sort of like the 'ghetto' and the 'slum's etc. Just some examples. I imagine cracked walls, graffitis, poorly maintained place, etc etc

I probably will be using lots and lots of banana trees in the drawing. The world will also be covered like an Asian rainforest since that's how the apes roll. And lots of banana trees!

Project-1: Deciding the final idea

After presenting our ideas informally in a class discussion, we decided to take the two ideas (devolution of humans to apes, and rappers taking over the world) and merged them into one. So now, our world is a world where there are humans and gangster apes that are co-existing on Earth. Our background story is something along the lines of:
In 2020, 'evil' actually became a virus and spread amongst ill-natured humans, causing them to turn into apes. Their appearance resemble apes, and are vile creatures but still human inside with 'human intentions' and such. The two civilizations are forced to co-exist under the same planet with feud and conflict. The curious humans have captured some of the 'infected apes' and brought them to labs as test subjects. The apes are outcasted due to the differences and incapability to tolerate their unacceptable ways of living, e.g. wild, destroying things. The apes grew angry and developed hatred towards the humans and have captured some of the humans back to their territory as slaves and that has drawn a line between humans and apes.
Even though it sounds very serious, we're taking more on the humorous side of things :D
